Applewood Smoke – My Review on This Top Barbeque Wood

In 1990 Applewood Smoke House was opened in a small mountain town in the state of Tennessee. Owners Joe & Rita Smith made their first barbeque on the following Saturday. “We just loved it when we walked in the door,” said Joe. “The burgers were perfect, the ribs were tender, and the chili sauce was a welcome change.”

We made a recipe using applewood-smoked brisket as the basis for this party. The result was delicious! The applewood smoke flavor provided a warm smokey taste to compliment the beef. We served it with a side of baked potato and some homemade cornbread dressing on top.

A few days later we had a family BBQ celebration and our guests were extremely impressed with our Applewood Smoker Barbecue. The beef was well prepared with apple juice, onions, and seasoning. We then completed the BBQ part of the BBQ with the use of barbeque sauce made with apples we smoked for added flavor. The sauce went great with the beef and completed the BBQ experience. The brisket had been marinated in the apple cider vinegar for about an hour prior to being cooked. When the barbeque sauce came out, we knew it would be a hit.

The brisket was served with apple cider vinegar infused bbq suace, hot sauce, broccoli florets, cornbread, and coleslaw. The sauce was prepared a day prior and combined using the smoker’s oxygen supply. The meat was moistened while it cooked. The result was the best brisket you have ever tasted.

After enjoying our second meal as a family, we all got up to enjoy our third barbecue of the day. My husband was the master of the grill and pit. He did a neat job of splitting the work into six equal portions. Then we served up the smoked brisket with the same amount of sauce as the first meal.
